Fatima: Please mention your good self in detail including your full name, your professional, business, political or social background, etc. for the readers of Time Square News.

Omar: I am Muhammad Omar Iftikhar, fiction writer, columnist, and author of Divided Species. It is a science fiction novel, the story of which is set in Karachi. I have been associated with Pakistan’s print media as a freelance contributor for the last 17 years and have over 800 articles published in my name. Currently, I am working as Assistant Manager, Public Relations at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi. Previously, I worked as Assistant Editor, South Asia Magazine, and was a content writer for Symmetry Group.

Fatima: When and where were you born?

Omar: I was born in Karachi on November 19, 1982.

Fatima: Please provide a detailed description of your educational background.

Omar: I completed my BBA and MBA from IoBM, Karachi. Earlier, I studied classes four to matric in P.A.F School Malir Cantt (Now Fazaia College) and studied Intermediate in Army Public College, Malir Cantt. 

Fatima: What are your achievements and failures during your educational life?

Omar: I never liked to study subjects that have numbers including Mathematics, Algebra, Accounting, Finance, etc. I always got bad grades in them.

Fatima: What was your favorite subject and which subject did you not like?

Omar: I loved to study any theory-based subject. I did not like math, chemistry, physics, etc.

Fatima: Please provide a detailed description of your professional or business background.

Omar: I am a writer, columnist, and public relations professional.

Fatima: Please provide a description of the company or organization you are currently involved with.

Omar: I am working for the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi as Assistant Manager, Public Relations.

Fatima: Why did you select this profession/business?

Omar: I was always fond of writing. So, I made my passion into a profession.

Fatima: How many other countries have you traveled to?

Omar: USA, UK, Egypt, Saudi Arabia

Fatima: What do see in the business situation and the overall business environment in Pakistan?

Omar: It will progress when the government and the concerned businesses unite to pursue a common goal.

Fatima: How do you see the current technological & communicational revolution?

Omar: The world is connected through online communication. We must adapt to the innovation in this field and equip ourselves to understand how these technologies work to remain aligned with the changing times.

Fatima: Do you believe in a joint family system or support a single-family system?

Omar: Neither of these two systems can work if there is no compassion, honesty, and respect.

Fatima: What are your hobbies?

Omar: Reading, writing, movies,

Fatima: Do you study regularly?

Omar: I do have a habit of reading books and I read them almost every day.

Fatima: Whom do you read mostly?

Omar: I love the literary works of Ashfaq Ahmed, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Bano Qudsia, Manto, Qudratullah Shahab. I also like to read C.S. Lewis, Dan Brown, among others.

Fatima: What is your happiest childhood memory?

Omar: Spending vacations at my Nani's home

Fatima: What makes it so special?

Omar: I used to spend time with my Nani, Khala, and her family. At that time, I lived in Medina, Saudi Arabia, and would visit Karachi twice a year.

Fatima: What are your strength and weakness?

Omar: Strength: Writing ability, time management Weakness: Overthinking

Fatima: What do you think is true strength?

Omar: True strength is your ability to complete tasks and achieve your goals. It may include farsightedness, honesty, leadership, commitment, etc.

Fatima: Which thing or habit of people makes you angry?

Omar: Procrastinating, dishonesty, interfering in personal issues.
